Welcome to Kestrels!!
We are a Year 2 class. Our teacher is Mrs Kerr and our Teaching Assistant is Mrs Humphries. We are expecting a very busy half term with lots to do to get ready for the Juniors! We hope you had a lovely holiday and are ready for new challenges!
Our new topic is all about Birmingham and healthy living. We had a tour of the city centre, the Jewellery Quarter and Edgbaston from an open top bus this week. It was extremely wet, but it was lots of fun and we saw all sorts of interesting things! Afterwards we visited BMAG and found out all sorts of information about the history of Birmingham. The children have been working on their own research at home to produce their own information books about Birmingham. they have been fascinating to read, so keep them coming!
We still have some transition activities taking place with the Juniors to look forward to and we will be helping the Year One cildren to get ready for Year 2 with some activities over the next few weeks.
Please ensure P.E. kits are returned to school, as better weather means we will be having lots of games activities outside. Now Key Stage One assessment is over, spellings and homework will be a regular feature once more, so please help us by working hard at home, and do lots of reading too!
Well done to all of these children who achieved 97% or more attendance for Summer 1.
Mrs Humphries really enjoyed helping Mrs Terheege with Sports Club on Wednesday 18th June 2014, seeing how enthusiastic the children were, when learning new sports skills. Here are some photographs that were taken.
